Ever see Gaudy Decorations?

Post by mandy0221 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 1:31 am

Ok so I have to admitt there is a house down the street with some interesting Halloween decorations. I love Halloween...and love people who decorate outside...so I should be happy (which I am) but I just cant help but think every time I pass their house how gaudy the Hallow decore is.

I think I may post a picture tomorrow of the house so you can see....I dont want to offend anyone because I will take gaudy over none at all. It is almost impossible to describe...but their small yard is COVERED in just anything Halloween you can think of.

Now I will have to get a picture because you all think im weird now for not even describing it. STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT INSTALLMENT -

I'd take gaudy in my neck of the woods right about nopw. I was cruising down the street and ONE house had a skeleton on the door.
And that's it!

It's a neighbor's yard that I think is FABULOUS, but I can see where others might think it gaudy. The Jack the Ripper part, with the tombstones around it has the actual things written on them as the real tombstones of the victims of the Ripper. I thought that was awesome.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I feel when it comes to the holidays, Halloween, Christmas, you might as well go all out. It's only temporary, you might as well have fun. That is the message I'm trying to get across to my fiancee. We just bought our first house a few months ago, and She loves halloween just as much as me (i think i love it more) but while we were decorating she would ask "Do you think that's to much?" I told her no! Halloween = NEVER TOO MUCH!

Great Pictures Geekmidwinter. A thank you card or letter thanking them for having such a strong Halloween spirit would be neat. Have it from a Halloween character or from someone like the Grim Reaper or something. I am sure they get alot of flack from people but it is all with good intentions I am sure when it comes to thier decoration style. Also for someone who likes to decorate that much they would I am sure they would love to know there is people out there that really appreciate it.

I wish someone in my neighborhood did that.
My neighbors are boring.

That is what I am shooting for, right there. I have a yard this year but I will have to make do with what I have at the moment. Yards like that I love! The more the better, I say. I really like the skeletons in a circle. It looks like that to me.

I think that house is great greek!! Not gaudy at all. The house down the street from me has a bunch of those just plastic pumpkins...etc etc.

I wish my yard looked like that

Awesome job on the yard!!! Tell your neighbors we appreciate their spirit. Is this in your new neighborhood? Looks like you have at least ONE kindred spirit on your street!
