I only make one New Years Resolution every year. It's the same one I've made every New Years Eve since my Freshman year in high school. To this day, and we're talking almost 40 years, I have NEVER once broken that resolution. Every year I keep my resolution to the letter., and then after I light off my New Years fire crackers, I reitterate that same resolution.
Do you all want to know what that resolution is? Would you like to know how I managed in almost 40 years never to break that resolution? Wello here it is. (Scroll down)

I think iHaunt's a good guy. Why do you want to keep him off the forum?

Spooky, I thoug iHaunt was just kidding around with those jokes of his. I didn't really see any insults flung around just to be insulting.
As for New Years Resolutions, like various others, I do a lot better by not making any, because nobody ever keeps them. As much as a traditionalist as I am, the New Years Resolution tradition never entered into my New Years celebration. I light off firecrackers at 12:00 midnight after they do the count down to the New Year. Then I call my brother Bob, who has the whole gang over, and we all say "Happy New Year" to each other, and then when I hang up, I burn last years calenders and put up the New Years calenders. Believe it or not, I actualy have 4 calenders in my house.

Burning the calendars is an interesting tradition.
We try to sit up until midnight. This year, only my 14-yr-old daughter and I made it. My son (18) had a bad cold and went to bed. His dad was tired and feel asleep on the couch. Our 22-yr-old son was over in Memphis, because his college had a bowl game there (they lost). But I guess he reconnected with a lot of recent graduates over there on New Year's Eve.
Every year I try to watch the ball drop in Time Square, but every year it is the "triumph of hope over experience," because I generally hate all the musical acts they have. They are all people I either don't recognize or don't like. This year, however, I did find another channel that was broadcasting the Memphis celebration from Beale Street. Since my son was there, I watched it. Their music was way, way better than NYC's, IMO (all Delta blues). So if I can find that again, I'm watching Memphis again next year.
As for resolutions, I have one resolution--to clean and organize my house, and get rid of everything I no longer need, whether that means donating it or trashing it.
