Saw this in my driveway last night...

Post by OctoberChill » Sun Jul 18, 2010 1:12 pm

It was about as big as my hand  I got a few good pics before I killed it. That was my first scare of the year. Needless to say I'm not going outside barefoot again anytime soon.

How did you kill it, with a shotgun?
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

RAID :) We have a ton of smaller garden spiders all around the house so we bought the spray for when they stray inside. As soon as I started spraying it the thing ran at me. Maybe not on purpose, but I felt like it was. The sucker was fast. I probably looked crazy to the neighbors running from it and spraying it at the same time.

I posted the pic on a spider forum and one of the experts identified it as a female wolf spider. He said their eyes are super reflective hence the "cyclops" look. I guess they're venomous, but not lethal. My spider props aren't gonna look quite as cool come Halloween after seeing that thing.

That thing is HUGE! I remember the giant white moth that was flying outside my window one night.

Bllaaakkkkk! Is that one of those Wolf Spiders? You know the ones that carry their young on their back. so when you smack them, 1000 baby spiders scatter !!!

When I was kid I stepped on a black and yellow spider, then there were a lot of baby spiders running out of its mother spider!

I thought it might have been a wolf.

 Forgive me... I forgot! :? Sorry I didn't pay any attention at all. Venomous, but not lethal. Well, I really don't know about that kind of spider because this was my first time seeing it in the pic. ;)
