He was getting up there in age yeah...and whether you liked his music or not by all accounts from his peers and fans he was a very generous and kind person and was well liked in the industry and by his peers and fans.
He had a distinct voice and was successful yet humble and always gave thanks to his fans for their support and loyalty. A good human being.

Some of Dio's songs and groups include Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Heaven and Hell(Black Sabbath Reunited).
Rainbow in the Dark
Holy Diver
Last in Line
Man on the Silver Mountain
Heaven and Hell
Many others
He had a veru distinctive voice much like Ozzy has a very distinctive voice and sang a lot about good vs evil...he is given credit for the invention of using the 'devils horns' and concerts \m/ but it wasn't the devil that inspired it. His Grandmother was an old sicilian lady, very superstitious and used the 'horns' to ward off evil spirits and he adopted that for Rock and Metal...hence the 'Devil Horns' being used.

Yeah, it was when I was in HS too...brings back a ton of memories for me...especially of a close friend that died a few years back. He was a HUGE Dio fan...

I really don't know him personally, but I do remember him back in the 80's with Ozzy.
