Do Not Eat At Applebee's restaurant!

Post by iHaunt » Mon Sep 28, 2009 12:47 am

Guess what??? Very bad news!!!

Read here from http://www.halloweenforum.com/off-topic ... ebees.html

Well, I've seen on TV about some people who working at any restaurants, dropping burgers, hams, fries, and everything like that on the floor then put them all back into the fryer pan, griller, etc. But welll.... they said that they will kill germs, bacteria, etc. by like that...

when I was a kid (back in the 80's) I worked at Wienerschnitzel, for those that dont know, thats a fast food joint that serves all sorts of hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, etc. Anyway, when we dropped the corn dogs or fries on the floor we tossed them in the fryer, hot oil does sterilize the food pretty much, but burgers and the like, we tossed them in the garbage.

Uuuuhhhh... that kind of thing goes on no matter where you eat. If you're going to leave the food preparation up to someone else, prepare to suffer the consequences.

Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame

If you think that's bad, I remember hearing some serious horror stories about a McDonalds in a certain town that will remain nameless. This McDonalds was pretty new when this happened, and the management was pretty lax. Most of the employees at that time (mid to late 70s) were high school teenagers who had their friends and their enemies. Stories abounded, and these unfortunately proved to be true stories, about hamburger patties being used as "mop hockey pucks," and then put in a sanwich for some oen to eat. Stories also abounded about french fries being dipped into a used toilet, pickles being licked and then put on a sanwich, and about guhs doing their "business" in one of the pickle jars, and using those for the sanwihches of people they didn't like. Basicaly, most of the kids who worked at that McDonalds went to my school, and if anyone from the rival school came in to that McDonalds, that was the food they were given to eat.

Talk about DISGUSTING!!

Luckily this happened way back in the 70s, when I was in high school. It ws a huge scandle that ended up in the local news paper. It almost was the cause of McDonalds in that town having to close down. I didn't eat at that McDonalds for something like 10 years after I heard those stories. When the new management took over, they decided to hire retirees and underemployeed senior citizens instead of teenagers, which sort of ruined it for the local teens, but you know the old saying. "One bad apple can spoil a whold bunch." It took a few classless bafoons to ruin a good opurtunity for all the other teens in the town.

I remember a few years ago when I watched tv, but I really don't know the name of the program. It's hidden camera inside the restaurants everywhere in USA that the employers and employees got caught for doing things like that, you know?

That one made me laughing so hard when the guy was working at the burgers and dogs restaurant, he put a couple of french fries up in his nose and showed to the another worker. They both laughed, and didn't know they were caught by the hidden camera. When the boss found out, he fired that guy who put the fries up in his nose and suspended another guy for NOT telling!

....
Wasn't there a big row recently about some employees at Pizza Hut that were messing with peoples' food and stupidly video recorded themselves and put it up on YouTube? That's just dumb! I heard they were both fired but you got to figure... for every one that gets caught, there's probably many more that don't.

Look at Health certificates in eating establishments. DO NOT eat anywhere they have less than a 90. A score of 100 is perfect. Not a crack in the roof or dust in the corners! It is very hard to get. Less than 90 you are getting into food prep areas and food temps. Not to mention the other nasty stuff.
I owned a pre-school center and know how hard it is to maintain perfect all the time, but come on!!! If they miss the big stuff, you know the little stuff is gross!!!

Oh great. An applebees just came into our town recently and I've been looking forward to eating there.
But, in my state they have pretty strict standards about food preparation, handling, and sterilization. If that sort of behavior was caught, they would probably be fired. If a health inspector caught them, well, the resturant would probably be shut down.
I've worked in resturants before. All of them require that you wear gloves. Although the ski center I worked at was a little more lax with food handling, when I worked at Subway we always had to wash our hands and then put on the gloves. If something fell on the floor, it was thrown in the garbage.
When I worked at mcdonalds, they had a special can for waste products, which was counted every day. Then it was thrown away. Even if burgers were old enough they were supposed to go in the waste can. But sometimes the lazy people at night would leave them in the containers longer than they should have. Still, considering the standards of the resturants I've worked in it seems to be much stricter than anywhere else. I mean, there's no 100% guarentees, and I certainly wouldn't shortchange a waitress as they may seek vengence upon you later on if you don't. But the health and food preparations standards in my state are pretty high.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Something just occured to me. Last Winter, I think it was mid or late January, I ate at my local McDonalds, and about an hour later I was VIOLENTLY sick to my stomach. I mean diareah, vomiting, high fever and total misery. I wonder if something was not right in the way that food I ate was prepared.

I wouldn't doubt it. I also have to wonder why people are so mean spirited and down right stupid. If it could ever be proven that something you ate at a restaurant, especialy one of these huge corporate chain restaurants, you could sue for MILLIONS and win. I would have absolutely no qualms about suing McDonalds if I knew for sure and could prove that the hamburger I ate made me sick.
