This evening I'm taking it easy.

I'm monster-sitting for my brother and his girlfriend who are over at the coast.

I think they're going to a concert at a casino or some such nonsense.

I don't socialize well...

We were quiet on NYE, too. In fact, I fell asleep on the couch, but I woke up to watch the music note drop on TV and hear Keith Urban sing Rocky Top with a crowd of revelers in downtown Nashville. Somebody in our neighborhood set off a boatload of fireworks.

I never take down my decorations until Epiphany, but it is a lonely vigil keeping the full 12 days in this neck of the woods.

I too wait for epiphany, but this year it just feels like too much...I actually just finished the task and it feels like I'm in a vacuum.

I did leave up the whimsy, it will stay out for winter so I have that to look at if I need some Christmas cheer.

I always miss the holiday lights when they are gone. My mother used to call January "the Monday morning of the year".

Happy New Year, Witchy! I just took down my tree day before yesterday. Well, I'd taken the ornaments off a while back, but I just got the lights off and dismantled it this weekend.

We've had a long seige of ultra cold weather here, burst pupes, etc. No fun.
