Thank everyone!! It meant alot!! There were lots of pretty flowers and lots of friends and family, lots of tears too, he will be missed!! Now I won't be posting any more about this because it is suppose to be a fun forum not a depressing one, so thank you for letting me vent, I promise to try to be more on an up beat and talk about my favorite holiday!! Thanks again, Witchy

Witchy...don't worry about being upbeat or cheery. When you are sad express it and remember you are among friends here and we also feel your pain...

Take your time and grieve and remember and we are here for you...

Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well

I second this.

I am old enough to have lost many close family members and a few friends, too. You always miss them, but over time you begin to remember the good times, and the funny stories, etc., and you can laugh again and recall with affection rather than tears. It takes time to adjust to a "new normal."

I think it also helps if your religious beliefs allow you to imagine your loved one alive and happy in some other dimension, just not here right now. None of us actually knows what happens after death, but I do believe that the soul survives.

I was very interested in what Steve Jobs' sister reported as his last words--"Wow, oh wow, oh wow." I wonder what he was seeing.

Can you believe it, I was down in the basement painting & playing Christmas music & started crying like a crazy person, my dad, brother and myself had done the exact same thing to surprise my mom for Christmas one year, we painted it white with red trim those were her favorite colors!! Those were very good memories!! She loved it!!! I miss my mom & my brother!!

Now I remember why I usually don't read these threads. I'm so bummed for you Witchy. Maybe you'll get lucky and your brother will haunt you? Or maybe you are haunting him? Sometimes it's hard to remember which world is the real one, the land of the living, or the land of the dead. Just remember, Halloween is the bridge that lets the two worlds come closer together.

Ha! Ha! He was probably having an idea for his next great world changing product, like unlimited free energy or something.

I'm bummed because the roots of the tree out back are getting into the sewage line and causing a backup. Now I have to dig a ditch.

Witchy, it's been so long since I came to this thread so I realize this is a little belated, but I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my brother to a diabetes related heart anyerism on the 27th of December, just 2 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS DAY in 2001. IT was a very sad feeling, and I miss him a lot, but especialy at Christmas time as it was his favorite time of the year.

I will remember your brother in my Rosary intentions.

Mike
