Re: WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR"S RESOLUTIONS
Chang, I don't doubt that both Toyota and Nissan both have vastly improved their customer service. I think that 90 percent of my problem with Toyota was the dealor where I bought it, but it was very difficult to find parts at any auto parts store, and the varius Toyota dealers wouldn't stock them, so every time I had to do even routine maintenence like oil & filter changes, I had to order out for parts, and dthe wait was a minimum of 5 days. A lot of Nissan owners had the same trouble back in the 80s, which was when I bought my Toyota. Parts were hard to get and expensive, and the whole experience was very frustrating when doing routine maintenence. Besides that, I probably got the one in a thousand that had defects. The engine and drive train of that truck was pretty good, until the igniter went out. But these other little "Gremlins," like the heater cable breaking, and then they send the wrong cable. That happened when temps were hovering around 0 degrees or below zero. 6 months later, we have temps in the 90s, and humid, and the blower moter decides go go out, and again, it's the same frustrating story of "sorry we don't have....." So I pretty much gave up on Toyota and all imported cars, all though I realize that both Nissan and Toyota now have factories here in the states, which makes getting parts a lot easier.
Murph, I LOVE Fords. I had two Ford F150s, and I presently drive a 2010 Mercury Milan, which was IMHO the best car I ever owned. Too bad the executives at Ford decided to dis continue the Mercury brand.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR"S RESOLUTIONS
My husband has a 2010 F150 King Ranch. We love it, even though the gas mileage is poor, but it is the most luxurious vehicle we have ever owned, and it has tons of room in the cabin for us and our three grown (or nearly grown) kids. Mine is a 2010 Escape hybrid, which helps offset the poor mileage of the truck, and I love it, too.

My Mercury gets 31 MPG on the high way. That's pretty darn good when you consider the level of luxery I'm getting. And I mean luxery comperable to a Lincoln.

I used to drive Fords I had a 1984 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series, then a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, then a 2001 Mercury Cougar. All good cars but I wanted more luxury and powerful engines so went to Nissan and Infiniti.

The problem I have with New Year's resolutions is that I spend more time talking about them then doing them! Lol!

Re: WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR"S RESOLUTIONS
Dutchess, that's exactly my attitude. That's why my New Years Resolution, every New Years, is NOT to make any New Years Resolutions.
Chang, the sad truth is, that back in the 80s, the American car manfactueers were building <deleted>. They were building excelent pick up trucks, but the cars back then, with the exception of the Chevy Corvette was nothing to write home about. Even the Cadlack and the Lincolns were seriously under powered, got TERRIBLE gas milage, were as slow as Summertime Hound dogs, and they weren't too much to look at, to boot. Take the Caprice Classic, for instance. I had a 69 Chevy Caprice, a buddy of mine had an 83 Chevy Caprice Classic. My car had a 455 cubic inch engine which developed over 300 horse power. He was bragging about the fact that his 305 Cubic inch could produce over 100 h p. We had a drag race, and my old rust bucket with the 4 barel carburator beat him by miles. IT was the same story with all the cars. The 80s vintage Mustanges were a joke, the Chevy Novas, Pontiac Lemonses and Grand Prix, even the Dodge Charger, all the Mercuries, Lincolns, Oldsmobiles, Cadlacks. ALL JOKES, not even GHOSTS of their former selvs.

I feel really tardy to the party here, but why are we discussing old cars?

Re: WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR"S RESOLUTIONS
Chang, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to take the car discussion to the "Off Topics" stuff message board. I love talking about cars and motorcycles, but I can certainly understand why others may not like it. Besides, this thread is about New Years Resolutions.
So post something to the "Off Topic" about it, and I'll discuss it with you til your heart's content.
