i will witchy and i'll post it in the recipes thread :)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I loooove cranberry margaritas, too! I'm stoked that Christmas is close, I can make egg nog lattes!

Well, if baked beans on Thanksgiving are part of your TRADITION, Belladonna, then more power to you. Believe it or not, one of our most beloved Thanksgiving TRADITIONS is Rice Krispie Cookies. Thanksgiving just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without them.

I just happen to have a different take on entres like baked beans. The way my mom and the way make them, the beans can be a whole dinner in and of themselvs. I put in 8 to 10 pounts of salt pork, so it's more like dinner then a side item.

Anybody else have a veggie in the family, gumming up the works? Wee brither won't eat rice krispy treats because they have marshmallows, and marshmallows are made with gelatin, which is made from cow hooves!

Look, I can understand not eating turkey, but FRICKIN' RICE KRISPY TREATS?!?!?

But if the cow isn't using them any more then why waste the hooves? It's like leather shoes or jackets I mean, c'mon! Take what you can use, use all that you take.

I lucked out. The one strict veg-o-matic on our list canceled on us.

I think when it comes to dinners, everyone has their own traditions as far as what is served on a holiday meal.
For my family, the Relish Tray is always a tradition for us. Relish trays include pickles, olives, crackers, cheese and often times pepperoni.
Yes, we often serve baked beans, although that might be more of the Christmas and Easter Dinner.
And I never heard of Rice Crispie Cookies for thanksgiving.
Usually Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry sauce, Squash, mashed potoatoes and gravy and some rolls with butter are our traditional meal with Pumpkin Pie and whipped cream for dessert.

I would so love to try Turducken, but maybe for a Christmas dinner. On Thanksgiving, it's gotta be turkey. A real turkey, not the tofurkey or any fake incarnation of it.

The bacon variation of the turducken actually looked quite appetising to me!

Oh yeah, I have a vegetarian in my family too. My cousin...evidently PETA got to her...but she doesn't realize is that PETA are a bunch of hypocrates >.<
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

DemonSlayer, Rice Krispie treats as part of the Thanksgiving TRADITION is unheard of for the most part, but in my family, it's a MEGGE IMPORTANT part of Thanksgiving as a whole. We do have turkey and all the above mentioned trimmings, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream, but Krispie Cookies are an integral part of the whole Thanksgiving feast, and for many years, Thanksgiving was the only time of the year we ever had them.

So what time is everyone eating Thanksgiving this year? We are eating around 3:00 pm. Last year it was a brunch 11:00ish. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :D
