Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
I didn't like going back to school in August, I think I went back to high school August 23 last year. And I think this year it's even earlier, I'm glad I already graduated ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Everyone I know is starting classes on August 31st, except for one of the colleges a couple of my friends go to. They started classes today I guess. I move into college on Thursday morning, and then I have four days of freshman orientation. Classes start on the 31st, and I'm super excited! ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
My first two years of college were a blast. the 2nd 2 years were not so great, but they had their moments. One of the more unpleasant realities that I had to face in my youth is that the Summer of 78, (the summer after my Junior year in high school) was my very last Summer Vacation. After I graduated in June of 79, I had to go to work. All through college, I had to have some kind of a job to keep gas in my tank, so I worked and consequently also went to school year round. I only went to college part time in the Summer however while I worked full time.
Since then, I've worked year round. I really miss Summer Vacation, but I am really looking forward to retirement.

I wish in Hell that my mother would have to go back to school this week just like some other states did! ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
Please understand that my mother will not live with me for any longer because my step-father has to work so hard to find a good small home to move-in before Christmas. Honestly, I really can't stand my mother because of all too much work and stuff like that, you know? Even, she's always getting on my nervous all the whole time!![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
And, for my mother's job at school.... she is not the "Teacher", she's only the Teacher's Assistant since 2001. Well, can you tell me guys if any of the Teacher's assistants do really easily get off their jobs than the professional Teachers do? Just curious. Thanks.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
iHaunt, I worked as a Teachers Aid when I was in college. I even thought about going into Education and becoming a teacher, but the reason I didn't was the very low pay and all the flack teachers have to take.
Being a Teachers Aid (or Teachers Assisstant in todays vinacular) is not so easy as it may seem. I worked with Kindergarten, through 3rd Grade, and there was no end to the "suprises" I got. I worked in a Catholic school, so rules were a little strictor and the dicipline, by the will of the parents, was a little tighter. But there were plenty of times when things were up for grabs. One time, when I had lunch room duty, two 8th graders started throwing food at each other. It was Pizza Day, so it was a real mess. After bring the two offenders to the principals office, I had to clean up Motzerella cheese and tomato sauce from two tables, and the floor.
I was also charged with all kinds of very tedious chores that had to be done, such as cutting out stencils and preparing various art projects for the class, and running the mimiograph machine. Back in those days, there was no such thing as a "personal computer" or a "printer" as we know them. The teacher would make up a lesson, I would use a museum piece called a Thermofax to make a "master," then I would hand crank this 1940s vintage mimiograpm machine until the proper number of copies were made. The fumes from the mimiograph ink gave ma a headache and made me nausious.
Ant that's only a tiny sample of what being a Teachers Aid is all about. I really loved that job, but it was thankless, some of the more arrogant teachers thought they were "superior" to me because I was a "young punk" in college, and more often then not, I had to bring a lot of projects home with me. To boot, the job paid bare minimum wage, wich back then, was $3.45 per hour.

Aww... that sucked! 3.45 per hour is long, long time ago!
My mother makes $7.60 per hour at middle school, and the teenagers have always given her the hard times.![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
See the difference... when my mother has to get off school at noon for only once a month, but the real teachers have to stay in school until 2:45 pm.

Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
No such luck for me. I worked until the day was finished every day, Monday through Friday. Additionaly, I was required to sit in on all the faculty meetings and on teacher/parent conferences. I actualy loved that job. It had me thinking about becoming a full fledged teacher, but I decided agaisnt it because in those days, even good teachers didn't get paid squat, unless they taught in college.
I work in education, but I work in the media services dept at a community college. I actualy make more then 10,000 dollars a year more then the average grammer school and middle school teacher in my area, and about twice or more as much as the average Catholic school teacher in my area.
Teaching is very often a thankless profession for a lot of educators, and I feel bad, because while they may get Summer Vacation, many of them work their zombeezees off to creat goog quality education programs for students. My 5th grade teacher, the best teacher I ever had, often put in 16 hours day, NO OVERTIME, because he loved being a teacher. It was his passion, and he was good at it. He was like the Beethoven or Mosart of teachers.

Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
Ok, any tips that I should keep my mother away from too much houseworks? From taking care all or her dogs, and everything like that? Even, some Holidays and a few school days off too!
My grandpa and I've always got so mad all the time because my mother has always loved to work all around the house.... I mean, too much work to do.... My grandpa has a poor health, and also, I do have a minor health problem too. Can't she understand? I remember last year my mother's doctor told her to take easy on her diet and her own health problem too.... but she didn't listen eventually! She's only 5'2" and she's too thinny! I mean, she looks like AIDS or something like that! LOL
But I don't mean to say that, and I know she doesn't have any AIDS/HIV because the way that she looked like.... She always eats so little food, you know? No worries, she will go back to her doctor's appointment next month. To find out what's going on.
She's only 51.
Anyway, my grandpa believed that my mother might got a cancer, or something like that. Well, I am not worrying about that unless the doctor is going to take a good test on your blood, x-ray and everything before telling the time. I'm only 33 - but will be 34. And, my grandfather is only 85. Weird?

Being a tull time educator definately takes its toll. I'm no stranger to health issues as I'm still struggling with the Gout.
Your mom might be anerexic, which means she needs to eat a little more. I would wait and see what the doctor says on that, though.

New word to me.... what is anerexic? And, what does it mean?
And also, for your information that she doesn't love to eat all kind of meats, you know? She thinks she would lose all of her own weight, but that's not true.... well she will not be back to her doctor's office until next month. She thought a lot of works to do so, will help her to lose more weight and everything, which I was kinda doubt.... she looks like she is going to dye anytime.

Re: Kids Are Back To School! Woo Hoo!!!
anorexia is where an individual loses their appetite and their ability to eat.. (its psychiatric) it could be sparked by stress, illness, or forcefully enhanced by an extreme change in diet such as crash diet and also tends to get worse as the person extends the time period of their anorexic state. When some one chooses to be anorexic, they begin to shut certain things in their body down which in turn starts a chain reaction in the way their chemical structure works (such as the replenishment and functional quality of white blood cells, their sugar balance... which will cause her body to store what ever she eats... ect. ect)
just some stuff that i know about it.. i've taken classes on body development bc on the side i do personal and MMA training so we HAD to learn this stuff.. the human body is a wonderful thing
there are 3 things man will never know everything about... God, Space, and the Human Body
