That is a hoot. I think it was a joke more then a spam, however, because there's no request for money. The real scams out there, ask you to send them mondy. For instance, I receive e-mails that say that so & so has x million dollars tied up into a bank account, and needs my account number so he can transfer it to my bank account. When he arrives to this country, I give him 80% back, and I get to keep 20%. OF course, anyone with a 10th of a brain knows it's a scam, and if you were to give out that accout number they would empty your account leaving you with zilch.

Another scam is "You won 2 million or 20 million. Please remit 20 bucks so we can wire transfer the money to you by Western Union or something like that. You send the 20 bucks, and never hear from them again. Send out a million of those letters, and if 10 percent or say 100,000 people respond, they get 20 bucks multiplied by 100, 000 which is about 2 million. Even of only 1%, which would be 200,000 thousand dollars.

You would think that spammers would figure it out, that most people are too smart to fall for their scams. But then again, there's allways that 2 or 3 percent. You send a spam to 100,000 people, if only 3% respond by sending money, that's 3000 people. Multiply that number by even a modest ammount of money, like 10 bucks, that s 30 grand. Send that same out to one million people, 30,000 people respong. at 10 bucks a pop. that's 300,000 bucks. With over 50 million or more people surfing the Internet every day, a 3% positive response to a scam would make the scammer independently wealthy.

Ok, Mike... there are several ads all over on Craig's List offering for the grocery shopper wanted. They say that if someone can do the grocery shopping for them, then they can come over and have their check cashed before going to store... For example, $600.00 check to be cashed then that person going to store to get something, you know then come back with everything. The person who offerred someone to cash the check and go to store... that person will count the money, and if everything is right. The person will give that grocery shopper $100 cash so is it considered as scam or not?
