Ha! Ha! I just looked to see when the last time I posted here was.
Would ya believe, the next day after that post, my house was flooded by sewage. No kidding! The city was working on the sewer line for the house next door and busted the water main while the sewer line was open. All that rushing water forced the sewage back into our house and it ran for a good half hour until their supervisor showed up to turn the water off. All our drains and toilets looked like fountains except the water was brown and lumpy.
Now I've been stuck in this hotel for the last three months. I just want to go home

I've spent most of the last year in hotels. The bed here is hard, the internet is slow as molasses on a cold day, I've been working late nights, and trying to sleep during the day in a hotel just don't cut it. To top things off, I've lost a lot of what I own. That's the good thing about a flood as opposed to a fire though. You can go back in and grab anything that wasn't close to the floor. You just have to be willing to trudge through sewage in your bare feet. Hey... if Andy Dufresne could do it, so can I.
Definitely gonna make myself a bugout back when I get back to normal. This is earthquake country after all, and the way things have been going...
I'm keeping a stiff upper lip though. I'm getting a remodeled house, new clothes, furniture, computers, ect. All at the city's expense, though they're being a little stingy when it comes to my possessions. I'm hoping to be back in the house in a couple weeks. It's probably gonna take me quite some time to get back on my feet even then.
Work has finally slowed down, thankfully! I'm really knackered. Now I'm trying to kick back and turn my attention towards Halloween. Stole my roommate's DVD player and brought it to the hotel. Been watching as many scary movies as I can get my grubby little paws on.
Went downtown Saturday and hung out at one of the pubs while the zombies walked on past... http://youtu.be/3NBk5HlxeGk Yeah that's me with the big mouth taking the video. I was definitely three sheets into the wind. Sorry it's so dark, just bought the camera the day before. Helps if you watch it full screen.
I'll try to keep checking in but I make no promises. I'll at least try to pass on anything I find interesting, like this. Or this. Or even this.
