Maila Nurmi, or Vampira, if you will, was the first female horror movie hostess. She is also what a lot of her successors have based their characters on. She was a very unique lady and if you have a chance to see Vampira: The Movie, you really should do so. ;)

Vampira was the original 'Mistress Of The Dark'. She sued Elvira a while back over infringement or something like that.
