The ghost didn't really do anything to startle you this time. Yeah, the MP3 player kept playing the same song... but maybe the ghost was trying to tell you something? It could be that the ghost just wanted, once again, to signify that it was there. I don't think it intended to freak you out because it didn't bang the doors shut this time-- the MP3 player's malfunction could be attributed to other factors, so I think the ghost was just subtly indicating its presence. It could be it likes the song... it could also be that it was signifying that its bones aren't at rest. Maybe the skeleton key was a coincidence? Maybe it wasn't....

Before you take leave of the house, you might consider speaking with the owners about the house and if they knew much about previous owners or the house's history or if they've experienced anything odd while living there.

Granted, if you ARE uncomfortable working there and don't think you could work with the ghosts being there, I do agree that you should put your notice in. It doesn't sound like you NEED that particular house. However, I'd be perfectly 100% clear in your reasons for leaving-- strange things have been happening in the house and you don't feel it's a comfortable work environment for you. The truth is always best... but I still recommend talking with the owners about the place before you resign.

Yeah, you're right, it didn't at all make any physical manifestations with anything in the house this time, it'd be GREAT to know if I could trust this entity or not!....the MP3 player could've been a malfuction, but I'm not sure since it worked perfectly outside the house..the song's mention of 'bad folks' is what creeps me out about it- but maybe the ghost didn't 'pick' the song for it's mention of bad folks, but for 'their bones not being able to rest' thing. The key could certainly have been a coincidence, but with all that's happened lately, it was a very odd find in a really odd location.

I just need to give this some serious thought the next few days. I do need that house until I pick up some other clients to replace it, and if I decide to resign then certainly I'll be talking with the owners about it and working the proper two remaining weeks...I am interested to know if they've ever experienced anything, but very hesitant to reveal my own encounters (unless THEY have personal accounts) except to say that there are times I feel uncomfortable there, working by myself. I would cite hearing strange sounds, which I do, and not feeling very secure, as there is NO lock on the door leading to the upstairs front porch..can you believe that??? And also that it takes me an hour round trip to do this house every week, and that's a lot of gas and wear and tear on our old, little car when I could stay in town for some other jobs...if I decide to talk with them, pinning one of them down for a meeting will be quite a task in itself. :)

Right now I'm just SO glad it's Monday and I don't have to go back 'til Friday!!!!!!

Laurie, I say stick it out and see how things go. I wouldn't mention it to the owners, your right, they might think you are crazy. Maybe keep a detailed log of all the experiences you have while your cleaning. Think of yourself as a paranormal investigator, that should take some of the fear out of the situation. And of course keep us informed. :D Best of luck!
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.
