2024 marks the 16th year of...

HIPPIELUVN'S HALLOWEEN HORRORTHON :!:  :!:

To celebrate this remarkable achievement...

I will enjoy a pleasant afternoon in New York City...

A walk in my beloved Central Park followed by...

Dinner and drinks at Margaritaville Times Square...

And then an initial screening of SPEAK NO EVIL (2024)

Image

Like always, I will post periodically about my horror habits during this magical season...

Hope you all had a wonderful year and that you're Halloween season is fun and spooky :D

Welcome back!
Let us know how Speak No Evil is. I haven't seen it myself.
I've seen "See No Evil" but I don't know if the movies are related. See No Evil has the wrestler Kane in it.

Howdy Hippieluvn.

Glad to see you back.

I've been watching a mish-mash of seasonal fare. Cooking shows, classic movies, and TV episodes.

Svengoolie is showing 'the Incredible Shrinking Man' tonight, probably the best atomic scare movie ever made.

This weekend into next week holds promise of cool damp weather and I'm all for it.

Hello MauEvig, how are you? Hope all is well.

SPEAK NO EVIL was quite good, more psychological thriller than horror, but good fun and fine acting nonetheless

Hi Andy! How's life treating you? I love Svengoolie! Weather has been wonderful in NY, leaves are beginning to fall in Central Park.

Tell us what you think of it. That "psychological thriller" description piques my interest in Speak No Evil.

I've had a pretty good year. My older son moved from Columbus, OH, to Chicago, and I visited him up there in June. He loves it and wants to stay, has an apt right on Lake Michigan, but his job was a one-year gig, so he is still trying to puzzle out his future. The same could be said for my younger two, who are here at home. I guess I'll be happier if I can ever see them settled, but my own life is not bad. Two of the three accompanied me to a family reunion in NE Kentucky this summer, where my grandmother was born. Her family has lived there since the 18th century. One of my distant cousins up there recommended a narrative history to me called The Frontiersmen, all about the early settlement of that region and the Indian wars, etc. It's been my bedtime reading ever since. I'd never before considered how violent life was in that region, not all that long ago.

I hadn't even heard there was going to be a new Nosferatu. Is this perhaps the 100th anniversary of the original?

What was the name of that movie about the filming of it? The one back in the '90s maybe? Willem Dafoe, I think?

And tonight, I'm watching an episode of Mysteries Decoded titled VAMPIRES OF NEW ORLEANS
