Last year Disney was supposed to re-release this movie in the theaters in a 3-D format. I don't know if it ever happened but it wasn't anywhere near me.

I read a review of CB that compared it to NBC as comparing a waltz to jazz, both are fine but the mood is different. CB is slower paced and not as snazzy and the songs are largely forgettable. However, it does have a charm, especially in the scenes in the land of the dead. I took my kids to see it and they were kind of bored from the middle to the end. To make up for it I took them to see Curse of the Were-rabbit right after, the only time we've ever done that, and they enjoyed it much more.
CB is one of those films that sports a family style presentation with an adult pallet. The casual death and suicide references make it an odd family choice, NBC is more about monsters and not so much about death. I like it and own a copy but if I had to choose, NBC would be the clear winner.

I agree Dr. Strange, I enjoyed CB, the dark style, it is slower paced though, good for one of those depressing fall days that I want to be by myself and veg on the couch.... The songs are good when you watch them but yeah forgetable... I am sitting here now trying to even recall the songs... drawing a blank... Love your wording .... So true!

Even though they are movies I place CB and NBC on my Halloween specials "must watch" list every year; along with Great Pumpkin, the Halloweentown shows (for my kids), and the classic Universal Monster movies.

I remember only liking Tim Curry as the clown, and not much else of the TV movie. The book is one of the few of king's I've actually read and recall that I liked it. Strange how the Pennywise character isn't more readily known by most people. I had thought at the time that he would be one of the new modern horror classics, possibly the fourth head on the modern horror Mt Rushmore.

LOL... yeah, I like Tim Curry in as an actor.... I loved him in Rocky Horror Picture Show... he was fantasitc in my opinion... and very good in other little tid bits... As for "IT" I watched it this past weekend just because I had wrote about it in this thread..I was working at one of the group homes where 3 older ladies live, anyway the house is like a huge very old house and loves to make creaky noises and sounds... Thought, what better place to watch the movie by myself but in this big creapy house... It was good, just perfect for the time... Anyway I recommend it to those who haven't ever seen it before, its older and well a bit more cheeser now then when I first watched it... but worth the watch!
