Re: Paranormal Activity 3 (2011)
I saw the first one and needless to say, I had to watch cartoons afterwards
I didn't see the second one. My sister did though and she's such a scaredy cat but she is insisting that we go see the third and add the first two to our Halloween rotation. I guess she likes sleeping with the lights on or something.

A movie will give more of an impact if it has only one or two versions. P.A. wasn't that scary but it was nice to see with some friends lmao.

I think these type of movies, make more of an impact, if you've had your own paranormal experiences. Outside of that, I don't think, it would impress most viewers.

I think it also helps if you catch the movie before all the hype. That's what ruined the Blair Witch Project for me. I wasn't old enough to see it in the theaters when it came out and I had to wait until it was released on video. By that time, it had been built up so much that I was horribly disappointed by it.

Yes, I first saw Blair Witch on video, too. That last scene is creepy, but I had already seen parodies of it before I saw it for real. And the dialogue, which they say was mostly improvised, is a whole lotta F-words from the student-aged actors.
Even the impact of The Exorcist, which is very well made, was dulled for me because I saw it so long after it premiered, after I'd already heard so much about it.

I too saw 'The Blair Witch Project' on VHS & also thought it had been built up too much. I was also a little disappointed by it.
One film which I saw that was over-hyped was 'Jeepers Creepers.' Everybody was saying how good it was (especially some of my friends), so I watched it & thought it was a steaming pile of you-know-what!

I saw Jeepers Creepers the weekend it was released in theaters and needless to say, I didn't really know what I was going to see. It actually scared me the first time I saw it (phobia of monsters that eat people ). I think it helped that I wasn't aware of the plot and that the filmakers waited until nearly the end of the movie to show what the Creeper looked like. By that time, my imagination was coming up with some horrifying stuff on it's own that just about drove me madJack Skellington wrote:I too saw 'The Blair Witch Project' on VHS & also thought it had been built up too much. I can't believe it spawned a couple of sequels, WTF!?!?!?Pumpkin56 wrote:I saw Jeepers Creepers the weekend it was released in theaters and needless to say, I didn't really know what I was going to see. In general they are all decent, if you just want to pull the basic strings of fright. It is way cleaner than the earlier attempts with things such as Blair Witch.
There are a few plot errors dealing with timeline and such but over all, they aren't bad. My wife enjoys them, I'm more of a "push the envelope" kinda horror movie watcher.

My sister and her boyfriend saw it this weekend. I asked her if either of them had to change their underwear after the movie and she said "almost"iHaunt wrote:Anyone going to see it this weekend? Next week? I rather wait for DVD.
