Rumors flying out there about this one. Rob Cohen, the director of the originial 1980s Monster Squad film, stating that he will not direct this remake, but will produce it. So, does anyone know more than I do? Please post it here! 8)

I'm surprised to hear that. But I'm kind of excited. I'd love to see the Universal monsters back in action. I still watch the original from time to time. I bought the dvd as soon as it was released. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

I searched for info on it but all I could find was what you said. There's really no information on it yet. But if you hear anything else please post!

Can there be ONE movie made without being remade?
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

It's just the thing to do. Movies have always been remade. It's good for nostalgia value. I get excited thinking about the new G.I. Joe or Masters of the Universe movies.

I do admit though that all it seems Hollywood is doing nowadays is remakes, but I'd rather have a good remake than a not so good original.
