Haunted History of Halloween
This documentary has now become a staple of my Halloween programming. It can bee seen annually on the History Channel and is quite informative. This year it will air on Sunday, October 26, at 7pm ET, and on Friday, October 31, at 12pm and 6pm ET.

Re: Haunted History of Halloween
I'm going to check the local media store on the way home.
If it's History Channel it's probably on DVD.

I'd be surprised if you could actually find it. It's an old special.Andybev01 wrote:I'm going to check the local media store on the way home.

Actually, I found it recently at Best Buy in a History Channel collection with several other horror-themed DVDs, including: Vampire Secrets, Salem Witch Trials, Hauntings, and Poltergeist. The collection was about $20 -- a great buy!!!

Re: Haunted History of Halloween
I'm a history, folklore, and Halloween buff!!! Currently, I'm in grad school in NYC, working on a master's in secondary social studies education, and as an undergrad in French Louisiana (my home), with a major in the humanities, a large component of my coursework was in folklore. So, this History Channel program is a must-see staple, probably my favorite program to watch each Halloween season. And, for several years, the problem was catching it when it would air on the History Channel. They used to air it for several weeks before the holiday. Now, I think they only showed it like a day or two before Halloween and at odd hours, so I decided to just buy the damn thing when I found it. Makes my Halloween-a-thon much easier! Also, I can't wait to view this documentary annually with my high/middle school history students!!! Wouldn't you love to have a job where you can watch and discuss such things on the job?
Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
FYI: Some of my recent online DVD purchases have arrived: American Scary, Monster Squad, Transylvania 6-5000, and the Roseanne Halloween Edition. I think I'll save Monster Squad and Roseanne for October, but the other two will be watched this weekend!!!

Yippee! Thanks a million for putting this up, I can't wait to watch it. Good God, August is almost here, which means September is almost here, which means Halloween is just around the corner! I'm so giddy!
So, yeah, this looks interesting--what folks mean when they say 'right up my alley'.
