Multiple Characters From A Single Costume

Being Scottish like MacPhantom, I like to make my money go a long ways.

Regarding costumes, I try to get multiple characters from one outfit by simply adding or subtracking acessories.

Just about my favorite costume is that of George Washington.

With an extra pair of knee breeches, wigs and acessories I was able to create Ichabod Crane and A Colonial Party Gentlemen from good ole George.

The costume that is the most fun of all is that of Charley's Aunt from the play and the film.

From that I was able to create an elderly grandmother.

As far as musicians are concerned a new wig and a change of tight knee breeches brought about Johann S. Bach from W. A. Mozart

And last but not least from a French Aristocrat came The Vampire Lestat.

I don't know if I have any other costumes that I can do this with.

I would think that the Warlock is pretty much set but may be able to create another character from The Ugly Duchess outfit.

This way I can get more characters for less outlay.

Thought that I would share this with you.

you know, you have some of the most elaborate costumes I've seen for Halloween and I like seeing what you've done, also want to say I'm glad you've become more active with these pics!

I have a wonderful costume maker who does these for me. I just come up with the idea. The Duchess is the latest costume I had made, not having one done in over 5 years due to the economy. Just couldn't resist The Duchess. The Warlock is from a robe I got off the net as well as the bald hair piece, nose & chin and stick.

Also I am from the Mardi Gras City and my emphasis is more on Mardi Gras however i have been trying to create some halloween/Horror costumes that will go with both. A French Aristocrat or George Washington is acceptable for Halloween around here.

Long term I want to do Halloween oriented Fu Man Chu.

How come my pics go from side to side when I post?

I'll post more pics when the chance arrives.

Thanks for all of your help.

it doesnt look like you're using the "direct link" link and if you want them on top of each other you have to hit enter after each [/img] code like
(img)url of pic(/img)
(img)url of pic(/img)
(img)url of pic(/img)

I substituted "(" for "[" so it would show up

Half of being a good costume designer is being resourceful with the objects that you have acquired over the years of creating your Halloween costumes or themed party costumes etc. I think a good wig or set of clip on hair extensions, for females at least, can be a part of an unlimited variety of different costumes and characters. Same way that accessories and certain pieces of clothing can turn into an entirely different character!
