Need Major Costume Help!!!

Post by Firefighter_Barbie » Wed Sep 02, 2009 5:31 pm

Okay so since halloween is just around the corner, I've been trying to figure out what my I'm going to dress up as. My good friend who I'm going to be with on all hallow's eve is dressing up as Alice from Alice In Wonderland so I want to be either the Cheshire Cat or the Queen Of Hearts.

The Cheshire Cat would be a simple costume to sew and wouldn't have much to it, but for one thing finding similar fabric where I live will be extremely hard and I know for a fact that last year it seemed like every young lady was dressed as a cat so I don't want to be a "copy-cat" (pun unintened :P ) If I go with the Cheshire Cat, my costume will look extremely similar to this...just a tad longer in the dress:

The Queen Of Hearts would be an awesome characture to act out so if I go with the Queen's costume, it will look like this:

Anyways, I have no idea on which one to go with so that's my delema. What do you all think? Which one do you like more? Which one do you think is more associated with Alice?

Thanks for all your help!! :D

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

there was one originally but it has just gotten so large that it takes TOO much time to scroll through the pages... maybe we should start a new user photo thread?... what do you think?

I recommend the Queen of Hearts, if you ask me its a more fun costume than the Cheshire Cat. If you could somehow turn invisible and keep your mouth visible than the Cheshire Cat outfit might work, but I personally like the Queen of Hearts better. I like the link Adrian gave although I don't know if the costume comes with the cool scepter.

I was looking in Walmart the other day and actually found a scepter just like that one and looking at the costume, it wouldn't be that hard to sew :) The only difficult part is the corset but I'll figure that one out when the time comes. Due to my friend procrastinating on her Alice costume (she isn't nearly as into halloween as I am lol) and ends up backing out, I'm going as a devil :D
