Best Costumes you saw in 2008-2011?
Since we did a "best costumes you saw in 2007" I thought it would be fun to hear about the best costumes you have seen in 2008-2011. Perhaps you saw it at a store, perhaps you saw it at a party, perhaps it was just an idea you had. What are the best costumes of 2008-2012?

I think that most of the costumes in stores look really cheaply made, however the past 2 years I have got my costumes at http://richemporium.com/imagineraiment.html and they have came to me really well made and they have some the the BEST costumes I ever saw on there!! I highly recommend this site!

Over here in England I have heard that the Halloween items are invading stores so when I go into the town over the weekend I will have a look around for some costumes and report back

If you see any good ones before, let us know too.
My 9 year old just got a "Unknown Phantom" costume that she loves. It has a black hood so no one can see it is her.

Almost without fail I make ours, My son is going to be a dead confederate soldier this year. We got tattoo wounds, I spent an afternoon sewing a gray suit I now have to shred, mud and blood up...lol. I have to get him the accessories yet, he has the cap but the blanket roll and stuff is still in the planning/creation stages.

Re: Best Costumes you saw in 2008?
We with a Tim Burton theme last year. My husband was Beetljuice and I was the Corpse Bride. I made everything so It was a blast. I found a jacket, pants, shirt and tie at goodwill. I believe the total was $30 with the wig. I taped the stripes off and painted white on the non taped area then once I had a few coats I peeled it off.
On my costume I took a $30 wedding dress from Goodwill and totally changed it and spray painted the Burton swirls at the bottom. I had a few snags with my costume I messed up my blue body makeup so at the last minute I had to remove it all together. Then I ordered the actual Corpse Bride wig and they sent the wrong one so I just had to do a black one from walmart.
Other than that it was a great Halloween and people loved the costumes. I really believe in making costumes because it really brings more fun to the season than what a store costume could bring!

Re: Best Costumes you saw in 2008?
Well I did say I was going to post on the Monday after Halloween, but I never got around to it. Anyway, the best costume that came to my door last Halloween IMHO, was a mother dressed up as a kangaroo, and her baby was inside the pouch dressed as a baby kangaroo. Not very original, but it certainly was the cutest. There were tons of store-bought costumes, and one kid with an axe sticking otu of his skull which caught me off guard when I opened the door. Then there was Robin Hood, Xena, Gabrelle, Batman, Superman, Snoopy, Beavis & Butthead, and The Terminator just to name a few, but I liked the Kangroo and her baby the best.

A coworker came as Barry Bonds' 'record' baseball.
She found a childs baseball style bean bag chair, emptied it and got 3 big cooking syringes for the rear end...
