Considering being a mermaid this year

So the plan for the past month is a mermaid. I was thinking to do similar to Kim Kardashians mermaid costume from a few years ago (though with red hair because duh!) then I was walking around Halloween City with my husband and said I wished I could do something gory. He came up with the idea of putting a spear or hook in me so I could have the best of both worlds but I'm not 100% sure. The main reason I want to do the mermaid thing is the make up, and gluing pearls and sequins on my clothes sounds so fun right now (probably won't be when the time comes) but I'm afraid a huge hook will take away from the overall look. Thoughts? p.s. I was thinking of making the hubby a scuba diver lol

If you will be around children maybe you could wear a fishing net instead of something bloody.

If you don't want to mess up your face make up you could use a harpoon in shoulder instead, just a thought.

I thought about that, it could be cute, though I don't have any kids and am not planning on being around any right now, if I did a net it would just be to look cool. lol
