There are A LOT of bad costumes out there but, the one that immediately comes to mind has been on the 'Party City' roster for a couple of years.
It's this guy dressed in a beer can and what makes it so dorky is just the look on the guy's face and the way he's holding out his hands as though it's the best costume ever. Here it is.....
You tell me he's not goin, "HEY, MAN! I'M BEEEEER!!!!!!!!

My friend Mike has a guy that he used to work with at the sign shop that dressed as Frankenstein's monster one year, I could have sworn he was the real thing. I have seen some other good costumes, most of my friends get pretty creative

Hamburglar
Gods Gift to women (Box with wrapping paper)
Toilet (Cardboard box with actual toilet seat)
Buck and Big Buck Hunter (like the game)
Cook and oven (She was pregnant and stuck a bun over her stomach)
Brave Sir Robin
Cloudy with a chance of showers
Redneck hunter with actual hunting clothes and redneck teeth
Fairy that crashed into a tree with broken wings and twigs in her hair
Naploean Dynamite and that girl, with caboodle I might add :)
Slash and groupie
Titanic drowning victim
School girl bitten by vampire
Gangster with violin case
Gynological Dr's with made up names (I won't post the names here)

The possibilities are really endless . . .

The ghoul from Scream and ninjas are the staple for kids where ever I go and I've about had it up to here with them. For some reason nothing stands out as a "great" costume I've seen.

I found this story about two years ago ranking the worst Halloween costumes. They are all "Ben Cooper" type costumes but some of the characters and concepts are make you wonder "What were they thinking?"

I vote Asteroids as the dumbest one. What was that person thinking?

I've come across that site, too. Wow, to think once upon a time those were about all you could find, if you didn't make it yourself! (What would the department stores selling them be back then? Woolco?)

Worst TOT costume - no costume! A bunch of grumpy teens wearing their regular shirt and pants with a pillow demanding candy. I reserve the candy corn for them, if I give them any at all.

This one guy I know was a pinball machine for Halloween when he was a kid. He had this big thing sticking out of his chest and he had lights and everything. I can only imagine what he looked like, no doubt he looked really cool, I will ask if he has any pictures. Aside from that I once saw a guy dressed up as a gorilla, it was really realistic looking and he had glowing eyes with it. Another good idea would be Darth Vader. They do actually sell this really good Darth Vader outfit for about $800 in this catalog of rare and unique items, it has chest lights and a voice modulator and everything, looks just like Darth Vader in the movies! The lightsaber you would get from the mall where they sell those really cool force FX lightsabers that make the sounds from the movie and look really cool when you light them up. Ive read in this post about people being the Hamburgler, well how about Ronald McDonald, why not be him? Or how about Big Mac or Grimace? That would be fun.

Hi green-pumpkin and welcome to the forum :D

The best thing to do is to introduce yourself in the "New Member Introduction Thread" here: http://www.halloween.com/bb/viewtopic.p ... &start=420 and then everyone will get to know who you are and the more you interact with people here, the more you will get to know everyone else too! There are so many great people here, I'm sure you will make friends in no time :)

The best costume I saw was a vampire costume. The guy worked a a carpenter and he built his own coffin and took it to the party with him.
