Halloween Discussion Forums, Costumes, Horror!

I thought about all the Harry Potter fans out there, and how there isn't a topic about all the things we may have made for halloween with a Harry Potter theme to it.

So be it Props or costumes, Haunts or Details, tell us about what you did, and how you did it.

I made these two shields a few years ago. I used the artwork from wall decals, used to decorate a child's room. I reduced the images on a color photo-copier. Slipped it under a projector, and traced out the image.

The board is thin wall paneling, and I painted it white, (interior flat latex.) Once the tracing was done, I cut the outline shape, I then referenced the images for colors, and hand painted them onto the thin panelling.

I used acrylic paints and mixed different colors and took my time. Since the image was already traced, it made it a whole lot easier, and if I made a mistake. I just let it dry and make the corrections later. It was practically "Paint by Numbers".

It was pretty easy. I made them both at the same time, so while one "mistake" was drying, I had the other shield to paint. Their both 28" tall and 21" wide.
