2011 TV Schedule

Probably shouldn't have started this cuz I doubt I'll be able to finish it.

http://Hallows-Eve.com/Schedule/

The time consuming part is scouring the TV schedules for anything Halloween related. I've already checked the first ten days for AMC, Food Network, FX, History Channel, SyFy, TCM & Travel Channel. I only had time to put the first 5 days on the calendar so far.

Anyone want to help? Look up the October schedule for one of the networks and post any shows here that are Halloween or ghost related, scary or horror movies, Halloween episodes of TV shows. Obviously nationally broadcast shows (sorry British folks). I'm trying to stay away from movies that are suspense thrillers unless they're really scary.

If you want to do this, post a list here, or send me a text file, with movie name and date released, or TV show name and episode title. Time (eastern) and date it's on. Network name. Link to the show's IMDB entry (for TV shows a link to the network's episode guide would be better). If the show airs in the last 13 days of October a description of the movie or TV show will come in handy.

I'm doing it in the below format so I can just copy and paste it into the calender.

Movie - Starship Troopers (1997), 01:30 AM, Oct. 5, SyFy
<http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120201/>
In this sci-fi adventure based on a novel by Robert A. Heinlein and directed by Paul Verhoeven, fire-spitting, brain-sucking bugs attack Earth, and the city of Buenos Aires is wiped off the map. Coming to the rescue are Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien), Dizzy (Dina Meyer), Carmen (Denise Richards) and Ace (Jake Busey), courageous soldiers who travel to the distant Klendathu system for the ultimate showdown.

Scare Tatics: Tow Truck Killers, 04:30 AM, Oct. 5, SyFy
<http://www.syfy.com/scaretactics/tow_truck_killers>
A car breaks down on the property of a crazy cult; a young woman is part of a sunscreen experiment; a mental patient escapes; a woman attends a dinner party with cannibals.

This could be a good resource for all of us if we can get it done quickly.

Or you could just check out www.halloweenshows.net. They have the programming schedule for AMC, ABC Family, and Syfy.

That's pretty cool but I don't see a way to look at a certain date and see what's on that day. He has a what's on this week but it hasn't been updated. It is a great way to look up a specific show though.

I'm bummed because I'm seeing a lot of shows that are on the same day at the same time. I don't have my DVRs set up yet and won't for a while :( . I'd like to add the functionality of showing what other days a specific show is on but I just don't have time to set it up.

Speaking of time, I have to get back to work on the house. While I was sitting here eating I started perusing the Disney Channel schedule. I see Halloweentown is going to be on tonight at 9:00 (eastern/pacific). The rest of the movies are on succeeding days at about the same time. I won't have time to update the schedule today but I'll try soon.

Didn't even pay attention to my own schedule. :( I missed 'Making Monsters' tonight. Good thing it's gonna be on again.

I just added the first 5 days of Cartoon Network and Disney Channel.

Updated to the 10th, same networks. Fixed the times on the Travel Channel. Their stupid website lied to me. I'd like to add more networks but if I don't, the link that Boogeyman supplied should fill in the blanks.

I don't care much for their redesign Boogeyman. It's a bit harder to read. Entertaining site though.

Updated to the 28th. I just realized, if you've been there before, you'll have to refresh the pages to see the updates. I'm hoping to get time to finish it Thursday or Friday. Next year I'll have to find a way to tie into the TVGuide.com API. If I do it again next year.

Done.

It's not proof read or anything but at least it should give people an idea of what's on TV. The times are east coast so check your local listings if you see something you want to watch. Some networks don't time shift. Obviously Ghost Hunters Live won't be time shifted.

If you visited the site before you'll probably have to refresh your browser so the updated listings appear.

Thanks for the feedback Midnite. It was a lot of work. I'd like to do it again next year but only if I can automate it by using the tvguide.com or Zap2it API. What I need is a database of all the shows that have Halloween episodes and movies that are watch worthy for the season, then the database can look up the listings and see when they'll be showing. This will give me something to work on during the off season. I also need to separate the timezones. Didn't have time to figure out which networks time shifted. I missed a couple shows because of the east coast times.

Well, I for one appreciated it a lot and even though I figured out the time differences and some of the programming was different here in the CST zone it provided me with a lot of good shows to watch and record. If I can help next year in any way shape or form let me know.

Thanks again,
