Re: HOCUS POCUS....LOVE IT? OR HATE IT?
This is one my favorite movies of all time!!! its up there with John Carpenter's "HALLOWEEN" and "Casper" Hocus Pocus is full of TRADITIONAL halloween characteristics (costumes, home decorations, ect) while all the while holding us in our seats with it's clever children's story plot.. I absolutely LOVE IT!! Every halloween its been a tradition of mine to put our big screen on our front porch amongst the other decorations and play this movie for the trick or treaters passing by i've actually had families sit down with their bag's of candy and join me and my wife in watching the movie
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I dig it. It was on tv the other day.
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!
Shall be lifted- nevermore!

I love it! My kids and I watch it all the time! I love the story and it's not scary for the kids (although I do let them watch scary movies, not overly crazy gross ones though).

It's not too bad for a Disney film. I dig it.

That was a good film, but it's more geared for kids if I remember correctly.

My niece really loved it when it first came out. I think it was a made for tv, though. I don't remember it ever being released to the theatres.
I do some thing simular for the ToTers. I duct tape a white bed sheat to my fromt room window, and show the silent era classic "Nosferatu" to the the kids.

That's when I saw it for the first time. I just happened on it by accident. I was chanel surfing, and I was going to turn it off, but decided to check it out instead.

"Amuck, amuck, amuck, amuck, amuck..."
I love this movie.
I never see anyone mention 'When Good Ghouls Go Bad', with Christopher Loyd. I think that's a fantastic Hallowe'en movie. Does it not get enough airplay so that few people know about it?
