Thanksgiving 2011
So what's everyone going to do on Thanksgiving day?
We will stay home to cook turkey, and some family will come over with some vegetables and delicious dinner rolls! Also, sweet potato and pumpkin pies!

Glad you don't have to work. My husband has been all worked up over how many stores are opening at midnight, including Target, I believe. He says this makes it impossible for the employees to enjoy Thanksgiving. But this has been going on for a few years, hasn't it? I mean, I don't think this is the first year many stores have opened at midnight.Spookymufu wrote:well, just by luck (or maybe they decided my uselessness wasnt needed) but I will be home because Target decided they didnt need me on Black Friday....TEE HEE!

Murf, essentialy you are right. The retalers allways do things like that to being down those huge holiday bucks. I do agree with your hpsband, though. I use to work in retale right out of college before I was hired at my present job. It was at Martial Fields, and I HATED it. I worked on both Thanksgiving day and the day after. They did give me Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, but they ruined the entire season for me. I HATED THAT JOB with a passion. Lousy pay, lousy attitueds, they acted as though they were doing us a huge favor by granting us the "privilage" of working for them for bare minimum wage which at that time was $3.35 per hour.
But that's a whole other night mare.

Re: Thanksgiving 2011
yeah, I have to work Thanksgiving morning but I dont have to work Thurs night/Fri morning, I lose some incentive pay tho by not being there, and I really dont care if I work on holidays, it's no big deal, it's just by luck they gave me that day off this week....We dont do anything special for T-day anyway really except have a bigger then normal meal and all sit at the table. We dont have any family here so it's just me, my wife, and the 3 kids (as always)Murfreesboro wrote:Glad you don't have to work. You don't drink beers? Wines? Whiskeys? Ok, I understand.
By the way, Thanksgiving is over and the turkey is gone.
