Connection with Facebook?

Hey, I've been a long-time enjoyer and user of this website. It's very well executed, comprehensive, and organized, and it's a perfect guide to the Samhain season. However, my only concern is that it might be overblown in the coming years by social media advancements. Pardon my terrible lack of understanding and knowledge of internet terms, but it's my observation that several other sites have some sort of correspondence with Facebook and or with other social media (Twitter, etc.); now, I'm not an avid enthusiast for these types of social networking, but with the almost exponential growth and explosion in popularity of these sites, wouldn't it be lucrative to connect ourselves with them and see a revival in popularity? We may be quite popular now, but I fear a more easily searchable and accessible page may pop up on Facebook sometime soon. I want to keep the tradition going! Does anyone have comments?

Uhgg! I hate all this integration with Facebook and Twitter. Seems like every site I visit is starting to make you log in with their creds. Gawker! I'm talking about you! I have so many burner accounts that I can barely keep track of them all. This just makes it way too easy to Google someone and track their actions on the web. Most people don't think about creating burner accounts.

Read yesterday that Google is about to start pulling search results from Gmail. I'm betting it won't be a month before we hear about some mix up where the results come from someone else's email. I guess I'm just going to have to admit that online anonymity is going the way of the dinodogs. Sigh.

You do know that it's optional. I refrain from logging in from other sites, precisely because of that.

I know with the Gawker sites you can use a separate account but apparently you can not post pictures or links unless you log in with one of the big two.

I like it here just fine.

There's something sinister about 'social networking' that I can't quite put my finger on.

I have to agree with Andy.
