Yes, it's a real silvertip fir.

I have lived with many, many cats and not one was a tree climber.

I feel both lucky and a little jealous.

That cat looks like a sniper peering out of his hide and waiting for a target to come into view!

I don't think you'll be in trouble with the Jewish population if you use blue and gold as ornaments.

If you were a guy, you'd know we've already adopted a few Jewish traditions!! It involves a very, very tender and special part of a guys anatomy. Someone comes along and does a little cutting! Pray to God he's got a steady hand!!!!

lol you know he kind of does doesn't he?

incidentally I did get blue and gold garland. I just thought they looked pretty together. Then my grandma said it was a Jewish thing. Haha! Guess that one eighth Jewish blood shines through in my subconscious.

Guess it's a good thing I was born a woman then. Most do that when the boy is just a baby though, but I myself don't really think it's necessary. Some countries do practice female circumcision but I'm completely against it.

As far as kitty is concerned, the decorations can go away.

Now.

It's catzilla! Haha, just kidding. You have a beautiful cat Andy. My cats like to play with the decorations, at least the younger ones do. I think the older female is indifferent.

She is the queen of the house where I used to live.

That cabinet is her lookout tower to the patio.

Faaaaaast Forward to Christmas 2015...I have just got around to decorating this year. As you probably noticed in the member touch base thread I've been really really busy.

I found this really nifty snow flake projector in the basement:

And here's the outdoor display...

I mixed in the purple Halloween lights with the Blue Christmas ones. I have to say it makes a neat effect. :) Found the penguin down in the basement as well. You can barely see the blur of the snowflakes...the video there is to demonstrate what it looks like since taking a picture just makes a blurry light.

My tree was up and decorated shortly after Halloween. I also put lights on the balcony outside and what little decor i have has been up since the first week in November. I usually do it that early because I want to enjoy it and due to space in my storage room.

Your outdoor display is pretty, Mau!

My yard lights have been up for a while--angel, reindeer, a row of candy canes, a few strings in the trees. But my Christmas tree is not completely decorated. It is up and lit, but I am waiting for my daughter to return from college later this week so she can help me put the ornaments on. She seemed pleased when I told her I waiting for her to do that.

That's beautiful! I'm so behind, I haven't even put my tree up yet. Today, I hope.

Dusting off this thread again. I finally got my Advent wreath set up today. Just in time for Advent tomorrow. It's been raining outside, so I'll have to wait until early this week to start with the yard. A tree fell on a storage shed 2 or 3 years ago, so my angel and reinder yard ornaments are no more. Instead I have a Nativity now, all in lights. I also light up my outside trees. I still have my candy canes, but most of them no longer light. I'm hoping I can find some fuses to get them to light again.

I just re-read this thread.

I am dumbstruck that it began nine years ago.
