Halloween Discussion Forums, Costumes, Horror!

and would like some input.
The general idea is to turn the whole front of the house into a castle. I think we are about 1/3 there with the props. We put part of what we have up on Mothers day, and took pictures.
We don't normally do the 'haunt' thing,...just select a theme each year and run with it. The other part of the equation is to spend the least amount of money as possible..so all recycled materials.
This "castle" is paper mache (flour and water and newspaper) on broken and discarded doors
from garbage piles.

The second story of the castle will be built about the same and attached to about the middle of the roof itself. We plan on putting circular lookout things on the top of the squarish towers (three towers total)..and three circular towers on the roof itself.
Of course, all the bricks will be filled in when we put it up..these are all separate doors right now..and the towers will be left like they are..painted the same color as the castle.
Can anyone see it in thier head? Or do you have to be drinking rum..like we are, when we come up with this stuff?...lol

Thanks..have a long way to go. We came up with a few good ideas yesterday. Maybe after we implement those , I'll post a few different pics, and see if anyone has any suggestions on where to go from there.

Yes, that's so beautiful home! I'm still thinking about designing and building the shape of woods like that in the pics! My grandpa, cousin and a friend of mine from across the street will talk about this.

I look at this thread every time there's a new post and I still can't get over the epic-ness of your home haunt. Is that a real block facade you're using for the castle?

Do you get a lot of repeat ToT'ers? How do you mitigate that?...

We get over 240 tots every year..it goes with the territory when
you do these huge things!! I buy candy throughout the year, whenever
I see it on sale; so we don't have that huge expense at Halloween
