target

Post by putrid » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:53 am

I went to target today . I just stopped by the dollar part at the beginning of the store to look at the party favors. thats when I noticed life size skulls that have blinking eyes and make noises for $2.50!!! I can never seem to find any for less than 5$. now I know I can't exactly ask for great quality in somthing that cheap. but they aren't half bad. especially if you want to put them in your yard and you don't have to worry if someone steals one or somthing happens to it. plus they seem like they would be perfect for "corpsing"

plus they had $2.50 strobe lights. nothing special, battery operated. used two little christmas looking lights. but it would look good in a witches caldron or somthing small like that

if I could figure out how to insert pictures here I would

Hey there! I'm also in Texas, and also love a good deal :P

We went to Target a few weeks ago and hit up that dollar area, we found the cutest pumpkin/bat dog collars with little witch hats and capes to match, all for a buck a piece! freakin' love target, but sometimes their halloween stuff seems a bit pricey, and a bit soft for my taste but they do get some awesome stuff in. My favorite thing to do is hit them up on November 1st when everything is half off, then again on Nov 7th or 8th- when they mark it 75% off.

I love target too... they can be a bit pricey at times. but which store isn't. Each store seems to have its deals on one or tow things that everyone else charges more for. its all about being picky.
big lots has the good deal on the blow molded skeletons $12 !!! most places charge $19+.

I saw those at big lots, we were debating whether or not to grab one. I feel like I'm 10 dollaring myself to the poorhouse :D

Albertsons has mini plug in strobe lights for 8.00, I just bought one. It's not the greatest thing in the world but definitely worth the price. It has speed adjustment and it's bright enough to do my garage- which is where we have the party. They also have 15 watt blacklights for 9.99, I plan to pick up a couple when I go grocery shopping.

So far, my favorite place for Halloween supplies has to be Walgreens. And good ol' Wal-Mart has the CUTEST battery operated ghosts for 9.99. They come with a 25 foot rope that they travel back and forth on, I bought two. They're my favorite thing so far this year.

Goodness - those are such great bargains!! I wish we had stores like Target and Big Lots over here - I went into my local "99p" shop to see what bargains I could find and I just couldn't bear to get any of it - it was even cheaper than cheap.. it would probably fall apart the minute I got home! And no skulls, no skeletons - even Asda-Walmart is selling out of them *sigh* and all because I need them for my graveyard! lol

we grabbed the last skeleton our WM had last week. He was only 9.97 and an amazing find. My little girl found him just lying on the bottom shelf, it was almost as if he was waiting for us <3

don't forget to browse ebay too! We spent hours there the other night just combing through their halloween stuff. One guy in Austin had a HUGE lot of fog machines, props, masks etc etc and it was going for a steal, but only had minutes left by the time we found it. I was seriously (seriously) tempted to drive across the state for his stuff.

How to Post Pics:

First, you have to upload them to a place where they are displayed on the internet.

Onece their displayed an published (so others can see them,) place the cursor over the image of choice, and do a "Right-Click"... A fly-out menu will appear... At the bottom find PROPERTIES and click that.

Another window will appear. In it, you will find the web address for the image you have selected. Copy/paste that URL, and you can put it in the text window of ANY Forum.

When you make a reply to a forum, look above, and there's a few boxes... On the right side is a box with "Img". This creates a display tag, (for that URL you copied). Click on th "Img" box and an [ img] will appear in the text window. This is an "opening" tag.

Paste the url of the image DIRECTLY after the [ img]. Click on the "Img" box at the top of the text window, and a closing tag will appear... It looks like this... [ /img] (with the backslash)

With the exceptions of the spaces in the tags, you should end up with something along these lines in your text window...

[ img]http://mysite.verizon.net/rest23ud/site ... HAUL06.JPG[ /img]

You can check to see if it works by scrolling to the bottom and click on the "PREVIEW" button, instead of "Submit". If the image url was done correctly, you should see the image in the preview. You can then scroll down to the text window, and continue to create your reply post, or just click on "Submit", and it'll be added to the forum topic.

Oh, in case there are those who are wondering what the image URL leads to...

It's this...

Oh, and in case you might forget how, IN the text reply window, to the left is OPTIONS, (just beneath the smilies... Click on" BBCode is ON " and another how-to menu will appear.

I hit two local targets lately, but no luck. Guess they didn't distribute strobe lights or skulls to MI. Ah, well. They had lots of real basic Halloween costume accessories, though, but a buck apiece, so it wasn't a wasted trip. There was a great plastic meerschaum pipe (a'la Sherlock Holmes) that, with some weathering/staining, will be a great prop for something or other.
